If you are looking for care tips to maintain your Zeon zoysia better, then you are at the right place, and we suggest you keep reading.

Zeon Zoysia Care Tips

With proper care, Zeon zoysia can make your lawn look the part, and here are some care tips from Atlanta Sod Farms that can help you achieve that.

Regular mowing: Mowing is an essential part of Zeon zoysia care, and we suggest mowing this grass with a reel mower when it reaches 1 or 2 inches in length during the growing season. The reason for that is Zeon zoysia is a dense grass; after it reaches 3 inches in length, it can be challenging to mow. You can also leave the cut grass in the lawn as it will decompose in no time and act as a fertilizer.

Watering: As mentioned above, Zeon zoysia has drought tolerance, but regular watering brings out this amazing grass's true potential. We recommend 1 to 1 1/4 inches of water to be given to your Zeon zoysia lawn each week for proper growth and appearance. The watering can be done in parts, and you can provide ½ inches of water every three days to maintain the 1 inch per week recommended watering schedule. If the blades of the grass change color to light green and grey color, then it is also a sign that the grass isn't getting enough water, and it is time to water it as soon as possible.

Insect control: One primary reason we recommend Zeon zoysia to our customers here at Atlanta Sod Farms is that it is resilient to insect attacks. If you want to buy Zeon zoysia, you will likely not face insect problems. However, if you see bugs in your Zeon zoysia lawn, you can get in touch with us, and we will be happy to help out.

When Should You Fertilize Zeon Zoysia?

Like most zoysia grasses, Zeon zoysia also requires plenty of nitrogen fertilizer. Therefore, it is recommended to fertilize the Zeon zoysia during spring, summer, and fall with a high nitrogen fertilizer. For the added benefit of weed growth prevention, you can also pick a nitrogen fertilizer with a weed preventer to prevent weeds from growing. Transfer your Empire Zoysia sod into a lush green grass by following a regular fertilization schedule with a high nitrogen fertilizer.
